*Research at Aleph Alpha* Aleph Alpha is an AI R&D company, based in Heidelberg. We aim to create the tools that will enable societies to reach their preferred AI futures. Our work focuses on developing capabilities in multilingual and multimodal generative modelling, including new capabilities in interpretability. In this talk, I will introduce recent advances from the team, including AtMan (deployable interpretability for multimodal transformer models arxiv.org/abs/2301.08110) and M-VADER (multi-modal prompting for image generation arxiv.org/abs/2212.02936), as well as results on sparsification using GraphCore's IPU (an alternative to the GPU). I will conclude by describing our ongoing projects, our collaborations and opportunities for people to get involved.
