Esther van den Berg
I'm a member of the Leibniz ScienceCampus ‘Empirical Linguistics and Computational Language Modeling’ and a PhD student under supervision of Professor Katja Markert and previously Dr Josef Ruppenhofer, now Dr Michael Wiegand. I started out in 2016 working on the effect of noise on Deep Learning approaches to Sentiment Analysis. Since then I have focused on implicit sentiment and entity framing. I constructed the Twitter Titling Corpus to examine the relationship between naming and stance in tweets about politicans. Currently I am finishing a German-language counterpart to this corpus and expanding my research to the portrayal of politicians in newspaper data.
