Inhalt

The representation and processing of information about events, their participants and their causal and temporal properties and relations is an important ingredient of systems of information extraction, text summarization, time line determination etc. with applications in diverse domains such as personalized news systems, event monitoring and risk analysis, financial analysis, and medical and biological analysis. After an introduction to the most influential theories of event representation, we will focus on recent developments in event extraction and classification, with a particular focus on neural-network-based deep learning approaches in different domains of application.
